When it comes to Search Engine optimisation or SEO trends, it’s never easy and some carry through. What ranking factors Google we looking for in 2022, will probably still apply in 2023. One thing is for certain, when it comes to Google, there are always new changes. This means SEO trends are always changing too. Every day they release an algorithm update that can drastically modify how a website ranks in their search results. Sometimes this means all of your hard work is for nothing. Especially if you haven’t kept up with these frequent alterations from time-to date.

It’s estimated that 500 – 600 times per year (or 1/2 way through every single hour) google makes major adjustments on what will affect the top 3 positions. This then determines who shows, then gets click-throughs or visitors coming onto sites via organic traffic sources.

So with that being said, it’s hard to say exactly what will roll out in 2023. But here are some predictions we think will matter more for SEO trends in 2023…




1. Google Discover

The future of SEO trends look bright, with new features like Google Discover emerging as potential game-changers. In many cases the service drives more traffic than organic search alone–and bloggers should be paying attention!

There are four aspects that we should take into account to aim for the Google Discover feature:

  • Speed
    It’s crucial you improve your page’s loading speed, especially if you own a lesser-known website.
  • Relevance
    Your website will be shown to users according to factors like their location, history, and interests. Also, websites that are highly focused on a subject are more likely to be eligible for topics users may have shown interest in.
  • Click-worthiness
    Clickbait titles may make your content appealing to the readers, thus increasing the chances they will click on your website. But your content needs to be top-notch once they get there.
  • Schema-markup
    Lastly, your web page should feature schema markup, or it won’t be eligible for Google Discover.

2. ‘People also ask’

With the “People also ask” rich snippets increasing in popularity, it’s important for websites to get their content featured on these searches. This is so they can be ahead of their competition. And with Google relying more heavily than ever before upon this feature as a means of improving user experience- you have no excuse not to do anything!

The most important thing to remember is that the questions you choose should be relevant to your audience. So if someone’s looking up information on how long it takes lightbulbs in different locations around town before they burn out, then those queries might not work as well when trying to get exposure through People Also Ask Boxes because there won’t necessarily need an answer regarding what people are really curious about (i..e., why do some bulbs take longer than others?).

Try to imagine what your target audience is thinking. What research are they doing on their own? Then create content that answers all of those questions. Finally include questions directly in the titles (H2s/H3S), or even create a FAQ section for this scope where people can get answers quickly and easily!

Google is always looking for ways to improve the user experience. for a few years now it’s been using metrics like Core Web Vitals as a critical tool to make sure you’re users are getting the best experience. For example, if they see that one of our pages has slow loading times or becomes glitchy, then this might affect a leads potential ability to do business with us. Obviously, this leads to a reduction in conversion rates. And that ultimately would result in lost revenue. So improving these factors will help keep customer loyalty intact!

With the introduction of Accelerated mobile pages (AMP), Google aimed to improve the experience for its users on a fast-loading webpage.
